Nearly half of enterprises have no one leading PQC migration

Help Net Security covers new Axiad research on enterprise post-quantum cryptography (PQC) migration readiness. Drawing on Axiad’s survey of security and IT leaders, the piece highlights a gap between claimed visibility and real migration progress: about 75% of respondents say they maintain a continuously updated inventory of certificates, keys, and algorithms, yet ownership, testing, and action still lag.

Key findings called out in the coverage include 46% of organizations with no single person leading PQC migration (39% sharing responsibility across a team with no single owner), roughly half never having formally assessed whether public-facing infrastructure supports post-quantum key exchange, and a seniority split where executives report higher confidence than PKI practitioners. The article also notes “harvest now, decrypt later” pressure, with about 67% treating the threat as an active priority.

Axiad CEO David Canellos is quoted: “PQC readiness cannot be based on what an organization believes it has under control. It has to be based on what it can actually see, verify, and act on.”
